What’s Blooming In My Garden.

Growing up on B.C.’s west coast with it’s mild climate, I was used to spring starting early and winter coming late.

There were very few months of the year you couldn’t find blooms somewhere in the garden.

That is not the case in prairie gardens, where winter often comes early and loves to stay late.

I‘m always up for a challenge though, and set out to create a front garden that had something blooming from earliest spring to late into autumn.

The crocuses are finished, but here’s what’s blooming in my garden this week:

Pink Tulips
Self Seeding Violets
Striped Squill (Puschkinia scilloides)

And one of my all time favourites is just getting started:

Allium
